lol at the end he rubs the car and says its okay baby

And that was using technology from 40 years ago!!! Sure compared to now most of the muscle cars had poor HP/L, again THAT WAS 40 YEARS AGO!
And yeah, I’m sitting here telling you about muscle cars and have no idea what a carburetor even is. That’s probably the most retarded thing you said so far. I could be wrong, maybe the comment that you’d rather have the 180HP engine over the 520HP engine? Or that you compare 40 year old engines to modern supercars? I can’t decide which is more foolish.
-
@320bit Dude, can you please keep the fuck track of what you say. You asked : “If its so easy to get more power out of a big engine, then why can’t Americans do it?” I answered: THEY HAVE. Then I went on to demonstrate how by going back to the days when the fucking government didn’t dictate what a car can be. The days of the muscle cars when you could get your hands on powerful engines form the factory much easier than you can today.

@320bit Lets see, I just told you some of the advantages of a carb, and what some or the advantages of EFI are, you repeat one of the carb’s advantages back to me and not only conclude I’ve never worked with carbs, (even though we’ve never meant and you have no idea what’s sitting in my driveway) but that carbs make more power.
Do I need any more evidence than that? You talking out of your ass.
-
@320bit In order for your 180HP to even have a chance of keeping up with a full sized 3500lb car (and I that’s not even stuffing 520HP in something light like a Monza) with 520HP your car would have to weigh around 1300lbs. Meanwhile, I’ll have a nice looking, fast, full sized car that’s worth something in 20 years. You’ll have a fast, striped out shitbox that’s worthless now. Still want that 180HP engine and featherweight car?
-
@Warblade118 I would rather have the 1.8L if its producing 180hp stock. As Im sure I could bolt on parts for little cost and get alot of power out of it. And with a big ass heavy 7L V8 thats most likely in a big ass heavy car, my power to weight with my small light engine in my light car would, well there would be no contest.
-
@Warblade118 You can tune a carb ALOT easier than you can tune an efi system.....obviously youv never worked with carbs. So far Iv rebuilt 3. Why do you think in drag racing people that use V8s mostly use carbs over efi? In the interest of performance carbs destroy efi. Ask any real gearhead. And your the one who started bringing up 40 year old engines that have nothing to do with anything, and were shit then and shit now.

@320bit The irony of your statement is actually many of the muscle car engines of the 60’s were UNDER rated for insurance, among other things. And when the same engine is dynoed today we’re seeing much higher numbers than what was claimed in the 60’s. And 500HP was awesome from a 427...40 years ago. Why do you think you can sit there and judge these engines on 2010 standards? No shit a modern supercar engine has more HP/L. A modern supercar also costs 10 times what an old muscle car costs.
-
@320bit Yeah, many of the import brands technically “existed” in the 60’s. But they weren’t making (and the Japanese still don’t) 400-500HP engines for the street either.
And you still seem to be under the misguided idea that its all about HP/L. I had to laugh at you when you had nothing to say about my question of would you rather drive a 1.8L 180HP car, or a 520HP 7L car? It sounds like you’d rather have the 180HP.
-
@320bit Okay, now I know you’re talking out of your ass. “Carbs give better performance than EFI”
Wrong! The biggest problem with carbs is the restriction of the venturi, which EFI doesn’t have. EFI also more precisely controls fuel use at a given speed and HP and introduces the fuel into the air stream as a fine mist which leads to better combustion and/or more HP. The advantage to a carb is low cost, simplicity, and ease to tune.
WOW...THATS PRETTY LOUD! HP?
