what I know about autism I can fit on a pencil tip, but it seems to me that awesome jungle gym is very beneficial for him!

This was like watching my own son. No one will be straight forward with me about how severe they think his autism might be. He is completely non-verbal, and 4 years old as well. Thank you for sharing!!

I am in the state of Texas and here unfortunately the state does NOT cover it! Makes it very difficult to give him ALL the help he needs!! We can only do so much right now. You are SOOO lucky that the state of CT pays!!! I might be moving to CA so maybe will be luckier with this there! Thanks for the tips!! :)

Yes he is on a caseine free/gluten free diet!! He hasn't had caseine for a VERY long time. But the gluten free diet we started on October 7th!! Not sure if it is working for him or not!! But I also love my little boy to death and don't want to change him either! He is precious! I Just want him to be ok and be able to function! That is all! :)

have you tried him on a milk and wheat free diet? I know that has made leaps and bounds for my little boy, there are lots of recipes that can be made and if u haven't seen the "sonrise" program check out their vids on you tube they are very helpful. good luck to you and I know that I would never change a thing about my son I love him so much he is worth everything to me.
Yes he is in pre-school, a little ABA but not much because it is paid for out of pocket... and OT/Speech therapy!! So he is REALLLLLLLLY busy but it is soooo worth it!! We are starting to see progress!! His verbalization is starting to happen. Very slowly but at least its something!! :) I have my ups and downs with all of this but t rying to stay positive for the most part! Dylan will be 4 in December!!! I hope he won't always need assistance but if he does I will do what I need to do for him!!

@proudmamaoflittleboy omg what do you mean u pay for aba out of pocket?????? what state do u live in?
im from ct and the school system is made to pay for aba ot/pt and anyother therapies, does he have an iep for school? do u have a birth23 provider? that comes and works with him? also the state pays for diapers too after the age of 3, since he has low muscle tone we got a special needs stroller too and they are working on a tricycle for him.

I worry that he will never live a normal life. But I can at least hope! His receptive skills I feel are REALLY there for the most part! But the speech is soo delayed!! Sometimes I feel like he is the only autistic child around here. Every other child I have seen at the park is typical and it can be so hard!! But I have to keep telling myself not to get discouraged! I LOVE my little guy to death and just want him to live a normal life soo badly!! He is my precious angel though and so sweet!

Who said "low functioning" and low compared to what? He seems like a very capable little guy with the proper invention. <3

@Warriormom4two well Thayden is low funtioning compared to most other autistic children I know, he is the only child in his school with a para and and intensive program, he has stayed at the same lvls for almost 4yrs now, we have faith that one day everthing will just click for him and all the hard work will pay off!! :)
