el tenor es un desastre¡ alguno aqui escucho otras versiones de don Jose? no tiene linea de canto, lo unico que tiene es buena pinta, y mucho marketing¡
She's about as sexy as a pear. The voice is swallowed, she hoots in and out of chest voice, screams the high notes and only approximates the lowest: terrible style. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ROLE. Kaufmann, on the other hand, owns his role.
This is the Zurich 2008 modern production in which Kaufmann created an entirely different Don Jose, naive and more timid young man in the first Act. He grew up through the sequence but even in Act 4, this Don Jose is still more vulnerable and less violent, consistent with the character of Act 1. Look at his trembling hands at the end. Beautiful singing, too. What an accomplished singer/actor Kaufmann is. I truly admire and love him!!
I follow Jonas Kaufmann but in this production I don't find his acting nor his singing exciting. I don't believe I've heard this lady before but I really don't like her many voices. However I love the translocation to a more modern setting!
As a trained singer with many years experience I have to wonder where dangmills gets his/her vast knowledge from and whether he/she even knows what a scoop IS? And to say that Kasarova is a third off the note is just plain nonsense and arrogant rubbish! She uses a slight glottal-stop to begin some of her notes, but not all and so did all the great Spanish sopranos as well, like Berganza (another mezzo) and Caballe. If you're going to criticize, at least know WHAT you are talking about! BRAVI!
