Squatters still a problem in Iraq - 25 July 2008

Thousands of Iraqis are facing homelessness, after the government said it would be evicting all squatters from abandoned state-owned buildings by the end of this month.

Al Jazeera's Francesca Stevens reports on how the country still struggles while living in a state of war.

@dragonrasp They didn't lose a war. They were invaded by a vastly superior military force, and we westerners, the invaders, put them in this position. There was no plan in place for the welfare of the civilian population. Allowing human suffering like this to continue is inexcusable, and makes nonsense of Bush's trumpetings about 'freedom in Iraq'. The people of Iraq were never even in the scheme of things. History will judge us for this in the same light as Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot.

Look at Iraq in 50 years and I bet it will be the most developed country in the Middle East.
