  • Just got done watching your DIY LED series. Pretty inspiring, but the cost still has me wondering if it's worth it. At $600+ this thing would take a LONG time to pay for itself before I started to see a savings!

I am curious, did you have much electrical knowledge prior to taking the leap to build your own lighting system? If I ever do get myself to jump despite the cost, would be nice to hear this is noobie friendly.

  • @LordoftheReef some knowledge...not much....more house wiring stuff.

The light will end up being a better deal than a T5 or halide fixture of equal or better quality within the first year. After that it's all gravy.

  • those are some bright lights. how much did everything cost. thinking about doing that myself now.

  • @jmurr8484 correction pobably between 6-7 hundred.

  • Did i miss your list of materials? Particularly interested in the size, spectrum of the Leds,

  • @LordoftheReef Your math is wrong, or your electricity is being run from mars. 175*2= 350 watts/hour. = .35kW/hour. *$0.12/kWh = $0.042 per hour *6 hours= $0.25 *365 days = $91.25

  • Nice!

  • Nice moonlights, so which was the website to order the LEDs from? Thanks n great vid
