In part one of this nine part AutoCAD Inventor LT Suite Video series, Rob Cohee, Industry Solution Evangelist for Autodesk Manufacturing introduces how AutoCAD LT users can increase their 2D Drafting productivity by re-using existing 2D designs to convert files to 3D. From the new 3D Digital Prototype, users are then able to document the 2D views of the model in native DWG.

  • Would I be able to open a large assembly created in Inventor 10 with this software, and still have access to all of the original information?

  • You will be able to open any of the parts of that assembly and do what you need to do to the parts. InventorLT is primarily deisgned for part creation and documentation.

  • Thanks again, Rob. I'm finding it very useful, accurate and quick to model our small parts in Inventor then create the projected views as you demonstrate. A quick round-trip back to AutoCad allows me to build a dynamic, "multi-view" block of said part by utilizing some Visiblity States for each view. You might call them Legion, for they are many... one block to bring them all and in the darkness, bind them!!!
