  • When all seems lost in a sea of stone hearts, a beacon of light shines through.

Thank you Kelvin Thomson......... decent Aussies salute you.

  • THANK YOU Kevin Thompson for explaining why, without being allowed a conscience vote (that tens of thousands of Australians personally appealed to Julia Gillard to allow) that crossing the floor & going against 'party policy' would be grounds for suspension/expulsion. Thank you for having the guts & honour for speaking up for the animals with this statement. It must be extremely frustrating to be put in such a position. Relieved to know there are politicians with consciences behind the scenes.

  • Kelvin Thompson for PM!!

  • This issue is NOT going away.

  • A typical apologist response. What is it that politicians are afraid of? Nothing here guarantees safeguards for Australian animals in overseas countries, nor will it. How many times do we have to see our animals being tortured, location after location? Must be the political donations ...

  • Excellent speech. Clear, concise, straight to the point common sense. This issue is not going away, the regulatory bodies have spent more on PR than on improving welfare and they must surely realise that the industry isn't going to just "get away with it.". It's time for big changes, and I look forward to seeing you turn these words into actions.

  • Thank you Mr Thompson. I only wish I lived in your electorate and could support you with my vote.

  • Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Kelvin! What a wonderful man you are.
