I do a quick video showing you the process of me upgrading the ram in my Late-2008 MacBook Pro. It's crazy now to think that I have been only using 2GB for so long.

@MonsterLove305 RAM is used to store data for the programs. The more ram you have installed, the more programs you can have open at the same time.

@AzureCressington Computer part are incredibly resistant to things like static, but if you're doing professional work you should always wear one just in case, for home use you should be fine

@AzureCressington dude... it only applies if you live in a really dry area and u get shocked alot... if you discharge yourself before touching the sensitive parts 80-90% chance you will be fine

4GB really isn't enough with lion if you're not just browsing the web and emailing people all day. If you do photoshop work, video editing or have virtual machines, you gotta have 6GB+ or else the OS lags like crazy :( I'm thinking of upgrading my 2011 MBP to 8GB RAM from 4GB
