I do a quick video showing you the process of me upgrading the ram in my Late-2008 MacBook Pro. It's crazy now to think that I have been only using 2GB for so long.

  • I'm training to be a computer technician and my teachers keep telling me how important it is to wear an antistatic wrist band but I never see anybody in any YouTube videos showing how to install/upgrade computer components wearing one...

  • @AzureCressington Us Youtubers love living life on the edge then.

  • the vid is great. what is the music? the second part? thanks

  • @boka110 Both songs are from Incompetech (dot) com. The two songs used in the video were Divertissment and Ghost Dance.

  • I prefer when you talk to us and tell us what you are doing because it is a little more engaging with audience. Great video tho :)

  • @khanavi000 Check out my MacBook Ram Upgrade video. I decided to do a different take this time around.

  • @MonsterLove305 RAM is used to store data for the programs. The more ram you have installed, the more programs you can have open at the same time.

  • I have that same screw driver!

  • @AzureCressington Computer part are incredibly resistant to things like static, but if you're doing professional work you should always wear one just in case, for home use you should be fine

  • awesome music :-)

  • @AzureCressington dude... it only applies if you live in a really dry area and u get shocked alot... if you discharge yourself before touching the sensitive parts 80-90% chance you will be fine

  • did you notice a big difference? what processor do you have?

  • Sold mine last year, why didn't you get the 8GB instead since the price is pretty cheap now.

  • @TheMacintosh1 Thanks very much :)

  • You're pretty lucky to have a removable battery

  • 4GB really isn't enough with lion if you're not just browsing the web and emailing people all day. If you do photoshop work, video editing or have virtual machines, you gotta have 6GB+ or else the OS lags like crazy :( I'm thinking of upgrading my 2011 MBP to 8GB RAM from 4GB

  • I have 4gb and thinking of going to 8gb very soon
