Join Will in their Probiotic Garden experiment today as he discusses the final results of the tomato experiment. The proof is in the taste! Two identical tomato plants grown in identical (trash) soil one watered with water only, the other watered with compost tea twice monthly yield very different results. The compost tea plant was better in all areas. Five times the fruit, 30% heavier fruit, as well as a higher BRIX reading which reads the flavor and nutrient density of plant juices. Contact Will if you would like more information on the merits and uses of compost teas in your yard or garden!

  • Great video man . I'm now sold on compost tea and can hardly wait to try it on my next veggie garden. By the way your daughter was very convincing. Keep up the good work.

  • @TheHammer266 Thanks for the kind words of support! Let us know how it goes. Healthier soils grow healthier, more nutritious foods, which helps us grow and better express our gifts! Enjoy!

Feel free to holler with any tea making questions as you get going. You can also get articles related to health and vitality by following us on Facebook by searching for Teaming with Nature on FB!

  • Yep. I couldn't agree more. No artificiality. One of the things that scares me even more than the use of synthetics, is how many people have no idea how to grow even the most basic food crops..ie beans or peas or pumpkin. It's this disconnection that has made me want to educate people on not just how to grow and the basics of food gardening, soil nutrition and soil health, but the WHY. Power to you. It's videos made by people like yourself that give me little nuggets of information to share. :)

  • @ToyMaster83 Thanks for the kind words. It is good to hear that my experience and research provide support for others. Keep up the good work!

    To health!

  • Do you think that it would be better to use the compost tea 4 times/month? Or is there some kind of a limit about how much you can use?

And what do you personally feel the best kind of compost to use is? Are worm casings best, or coffee grounds, or what? I'm interested in growing a large quantity of organic, healthy food in the most economical way possible. Are there any resources regarding the implementation of compost tea on a large scale?

    Thanks!

  • @qedlife Great questions! As you can't overdo compost tea, you can apply it as often as you want. Depending on the needs, I like to apply anywhere from once monthly for regular applications to 2-4x per month for stressed plants.

Re: compost types, I prefer a mix of thermophylic compost and worm castings for maximal diversity of microbes.

Check out soilfoodweb for leads to large scale applications. The folks there are the leaders in aerobic compost tea.

    To your health!

  • you talked about the difference in worm tea, can you do a video on how you make your tea or respond on how you make yours. I use worm castings, mulch, and fish emulsion, along with molasses. Mine is not as dark as your, would you mind sharing your recipe? Thanks great video's

  • Thanks for putting in the time and sharing this info.

Your plants say a lot about nutritional value and to me that is the KEY POINT.

The shroud of GMO has blinded a generation into thinking that bigger is better... but has little nutrition. Your experiment demonstrated size and nutrition.

Too bad the big Agg biz couldn't' get a clue. OH wait, for them the money is most important thing. :<

  • I jumped when the camera guy sneezed!! hahahahha. Great experiment, I'm thinking about using compost tea for my garden :D

  • Thank you so much for this educational video. Love you assistant, she's so cute.

  • @TeamingWithNature: to HackerGuitarist comment that " no one grows tomatoes without any nutrients whatsoever", well I did. lol. But not for experiment but because I was new to gardening or growing anything for that matter. Needless to say it was a bust. :(

  • @TeamingWithNature

    Thanks very much!
