Tonnenabschlag (Knocking the Barrel) Ahrenshoop 2009

Jedes Jahr findet auf der Halbinsel Fischland bzw. Zingst der traditionelle Tonnenabschlag statt, ein alter Wettstreit zu Pferd,deren Ursprung nicht eindeutig geklärt ist. Dieses Brauchtum wird in verschiedenen Ortschaften und nur
auf den Halbinseln Fischland und Zingst ausgeführt.

Every year the traditional "Tonnenabschlag", an old tournament on horseback, takes place on the peninsulas Fischland and Zingst. The origin of this ancient customs has not been clarified. This special gymkhana is solely carried out on the peninsulas Fischland and Zingst.
