On April 18, 2011, the Power Shift "Make Big Polluters Pay" rally was held at Lafayette Square in Washington,D.C. During this rally of mainly college students, roads were shut down as they marched to the Chamber of Commerce, BP lobby headquarters, GenOn main offices, then looped back to Lafayette Square calling for 'climate justice'. The rally followed a weekend of training seminars and workshops on people such as the Koch Brothers and speeches by the likes of Al Gore, Obama's former 'Green Jobs Czar' Van Jones, and the head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Lisa Jackson. The Media Research Center caught up with some of the attendees. Here is what they had to say.

  • Funny how shit flinging right-wing monkeys feel they need to troll this video lol.

  • Good on these proactive, intelligent and informed people. It's those who make the effort to study and understand who need to be listened to, not self-interested capitalist parasites or self-appointed arm-chair expert wankers and conspiracy theory quacks.

  • @JakeBlakeProject: communism will never work in reality, and I can't stand Obama. Oh...and I was there. I don't toke, either. Try again.

@pcrase2: no sh*t sherlock. why don't you tell me about the differences between active and passive solar, studies in imitative form for wind mills, and the feasibility of biomass in different areas of the country based on the different ecosystems.

  • big party ^^

  • i wonder if any of these people know how solar, wind, and coal energy works?

  • Wow! These people are collage students? This is our future? I am scared.

  • 10:19 - Wow! This part of the video looks like it was taken from the sixties.

  • @TonyUnplugged I have a master's in electrical engineering, and I was there in the crowd.

  • That is the most non petroleum users I have ever seen, congregated in one place, hope no one got their bicycle stolen.

  • Looks like the future welfare recipients that I will support. UGGG.
