Hey Matt, my name is Alyssa Joy and I am a young teenager and I have a song for you to put music to if you want. I wrote this a couple months ago after this guy I was dating for a while, about 2 years, emotionally abused me and lied to me. He broke my heart, and I kinda let him do it. I kept telling myself that I could change him, but I know that God has something better for me now, it just took getting out of an unhealthy relationship to see that. So here it is...

Waiting and Staying

Could empty shorelines and hidden horizons
bring life to the brokenness that waits to find us
Is it to cliche to think this could work out
or is remedy relative to falling down

Is justifying pain, enough to let it be
or is this all enough to make her see
value picks her up after what he's done
but she goes back for more trying to be won

and he can only give so much
and she can only wait so long
she can only be so right
and he can only be so wrong

Imprints in the sand last as long as what he says
But she waits...
Beauty only seems to satisfy for a day
But he stays...

And he'll proceed to almost leave and she'll beg for him to stay
Then he'll stay just in time, for her to walk away
But he's so far and she's so close to what it all could be
He brings her heartache as she stays

She stays, he waits
He stays, she waits...
