Designing the Architect is chronicle of MIT Professor Jan Wampler's graduate level class. The project was produced, directed, co-written, and edited by Dan Miot.
To design a building for a group of people, you need to know those people, their hopes, dreams, and wishes. This is the philosophy of MIT Professor of Architecture Jan Wampler. With this in mind Jan guides his group of graduate students from conception to creation using a small dilapidated area in Havana, Cuba as their canvas.
These students will go from a four day trip in Cuba to an intense semester in the classroom. They'll design live/work spaces with respect to the climate, topography, and most importantly the people.
