Harmen and Max, two second graders, read Paul Fleischman's Newbery Medal winning book Joyful Noise: Poems for two voices. The book is a collection of poems (each about a particular insect) that were written to be read aloud by two readers at once. Harmen and Max each picked one of the poems and then researched the insect featured in the poem and wrote an essay about it to share with their classes.
