  • How does it work? will it automaticly shift for you? Does the spring and the tension of the belt have something to do with it?

  • Joe,

This is the 1st prototype of 3 planned. It is the simplest of the 3; a 1 speed. The clutch has 2 parts (hub and bell) that are independant (hub is fixed to shaft and bell spins free on a bush) at idle and together w/ engaged. When the motor is revd it spins the clutch to engage shoes to the bell via centrifugal force so that the bell is required to spin w/ the shaft. Voiala! you cruise down the road. This bike is gear for about 5-40 mph so some pedaling is required on the start!

  • so that doesnt have a clutch that you need to hold to keep it from stalling, all you need to do is give it gas?

  • That's right. It's a centrifugal (automatic) clutch

  • Is this a kit that you can buy? because i have the 49cc grubee kit and its my daily driver and i love it but this look so much better and I WANT ONE

  • It is a prototype for a kit that we (Shelly Motorbike and FireBelly Cycles plan to offer once it has been proven! So Far, So Good! Thanks!
