@BadBoyMMA5 it is the player's responsibility to understand the rules. as of 1955, "A rule change declared the ball dead immediately if the ball carrier touched the ground with any part of his body except his hands or feet while in the grasp of an opponent." I can't find any specific rules about the Qb knee, because EVERYONE THAT HAS EVERY TOUCHED A FOOTBALL UNDERSTANDS YOU DON'T HIT THE QB AFTER HE TAKES A KNEE. Yes you play to whistle unless the ball is obviously dead. in this case, it was.

@Trollololololful you obviously haven't ever played football for a very good coach, the first thing i was taught when i started playing the game was "to go to the whistle." This was a clean play

I thought that he had just taken a knee when they hit him which would have been ok.
But stafford was on a knee for like 4 seconds.

I'm a fan of Georgia cause I was born here and flordia should of only gotten a false start because the whistle wasnt blown and the linebacker probaly just thought he was ducking for some odd reason

I agree with forzajaymz, play til you hear the whistle. Shouldn't be a penalty. You are allowed to tackle the ball carrier. The refs are to blame.

Should have been offsides on the defense PLUS a personal foul. Still find it kinda odd it took the refs so long to blow the whislte. What were they all doing?

that was one of the weirdest plays, ball snapped with a man over the line of scrimmage, no flag, QB kneel, no whistle, and then after about 3 seconds of awkwardness he gets tackled.
That ref needs to get his head out of his ass.
