  • Arrows are much more under powered, A musket in the hands of someone trained to AIM can reach out and touch ya.

Remember the myth of smoothbore innacuracy is born from volly fire training, brit troops were not trained to AIM their gonnes, but to fire masses of volleys.

A bow is ust as inaccurate if you dont AIM.

I shoot both styles, and thus kinda know what Im saying.

  • Arrows are not better at all I hunt with a smooth bore flintlock and shoot bows, and theres no comparison bows are sad in comparison!, The indians figured that out real fast and thats why they adopted fowling arms as soon as they could get their hands on them.

Thats a good bit of drill there!

    Good job lads!

  • i dotn no why you have thumbs down for this comment but its like shooting the commanding officer or general, he seems to be keeping organization

  • Not exactly correct. The firearms were generally GIVEN to the native people, as "loss leaders" so that the whites could profit on the flints, shot, powder, and repairs that were needed.

By the time the natives could see the mistake, many of them had lost the necessary skills to resume using bows.

  • there wasn't quite as many as there was a while ago

  • we fired our guns but the yankees kept a comin'

  • Sorry there bud, no need to be rude, you know what they say slander is the last resort of the ignrant.

A smoothbore if AIMED "something redcoats were not trained to do" will hit and hit relyably at 60-80 yards and beyond. A bow is fine shure but only if theres nothing else.

I use my brown bess smoothbore quite accuratly, and its a hell of alot of fun and a good hunting tool. A sturdy flintlock in the hands of some one skilled in its usage will win over a bow no problem.

  • Yes, not the fort york guard.

Arrows were MUCH more accurate, fool, but muskets are FUCKING TERRIFYING and can be given to any goof without them needing twenty years of practice

  • Ready?Steady lads,Steady FIREEE!

    incoming calvary sir!

Everyone form square! Cannons get int the middle, load and wait for others, first line get to positions!2nd line aim, steady, fire!

  • the muskets, no doubt were powerful...that is if you get hit, although this was a huge technological increase in weaponry, the accuracy was just horrible, many bows and crossbows succeded in accuracy compared to this
