  • How do exract groove templates in cubase 5 , the settings in this video in respect of the quantization are not in my cubase 5 settings , how do u import groove templates in cubase 5 ??????????????? pls help

    thanks in advance

  • @ganimber3 you select all the stuff you want to quantize, right click, select "quantize settings". Then select "quantize to 1/16"; On "adjust note" you select both Start and End; Set the amount to 75%, then click OK. Then you right click on the stuff you want to quantize again, and select "Quantize". Try it out with just the hi-hats, lay them out like he does around 3:23, then select them all and follow these steps and you should get the same effect as he does at 4:34.

  • what i meant is how do you get a grid that has the lines wher eyou should put the samples in the fruity places

  • i dont really understand how you changed your quantize like that, i mean im also using ableton, any ideas?

  • Wicked tutorial by the way man!

  • @slydubz Usually those sounds are just one chord, sampled from keyboards or synths, things like maybe a Korg Triton, maybe a roland jv-1080, E-mu proteus, korg m1 (for organ or piano), or maybe a synth like a Roland Juno for those stabby filtered synths you hear (particularly on things like bump n flex tunes etc). But anyway, the main part of getting that sound, in my opinion, is recording just one chord, and sampling it, so you can play it up or down the keyboard.

  • Hi jim, i was wondering if you would be able to put a tutorial together on how to make 4x4 old skool garage house beats, like in your tune, wideboys - stand and deliver, i was wondering also, how to make those sort of piano stabs/organ stabs like in the old r.i.p productions songs and 24hour experience/nice n ripe tunes...
