Mom Enjoying her Bailey's Irish Cream!

Since Mom is soon going to be using a feeding tube indefinitely, I thought it best to give her the opportunity to enjoy the TASTE of some of her all time favorites before she has the PEG Tube inserted. On today's visit with her she enjoyed "Bailey's Irish Cream" her all time favorite drink!

You'll notice towards the end of the clip just before it cuts off she was almost choking as she swallowed. Her severe form of MS is directly responsible for her inability to swallow foods as she once did. She has been on an all purée diet for months now, but even the purée has become a chore for her to swallow too.

Hi, I wanted to let you know my mom passed away a mth ago (Nov 5th). She had the feeding tube inserted early this year, but the MS progressed rapidly in very little time. In the end, it was her decision to have the tube removed, and have her food, and water cut out completely. She let us know she didn't have any fight left. She was ready to die. It was just as humbling and beautiful an experience as it was painful for me.

Im so sorry to hear about your mothers passing. It was a loving gesture on your part to let her taste one of her favorite drinks. I was looking up videos on Bailey's when I came across yours. Very touching. Made me cry. The next time i have a Bailey's On The Rocks I will toast you and yours. Be Well, Be Happy, Salud!
