My class recently read the book and watched the movie today. It's odd seeing this as a show

I saw this on Broadway. Hands down the best musical Broadway has ever seen. I've been praying for years that they revive this.

Mice have extremely sensitive hearing! It is appalingly wrong to blast the poor thing's ears like that, if he's really singing onstage in the musical.

Musicals are great. Flowers for Algernon is great.

I think it would have been more theatrical if they had an actor playing Alernon. Human actors play the mice/rats in the Nutcracker and people almost always play him in the umteen student film versions of it here on You Tube. If people think the costumes in The Lion King are so teriffic, that approach might work with this show as well.
