In the order of importance of the rooms in a Benedictine monastery, the library comes second only to the church.
The 18th century ceiling fresco is by Paul Troger and shows, in contrast to the secular scenery of the Marble Hall, a symbolic depiction of Faith.
Stift Melk is located in the Wachau region in Austria. The Wachau is a valley of the Danube and runs from the picturesque town of Melk to the city of Krems. This valley with a great natural, cultural and historical value is on the UNESCO World Heritage list -
