@yossarianhunter Perhaps my friend... However, you miss the point of my comment - I always appreciated the Dead, but prefer the days of their analog sound, rather than their digital midi sound which predominated in '80's and later.... I was not around to hear them play in the seventies either, but it's clear that Jerry's voice was much better then. His heroin (and cigarette) addiction was more important to him than the music at this point, and the entire band suffered due to it
@deweypug so you would suggest that after YOU are past your "prime" that we should ignore and not appreciate anything YOU do?.. unfortunately for us, some of us were born after 1960, & so later Jerry is what we grew up with, and we LOVE it... if you don't dig this, right here, well, maybe you don't dig Jerry as much as you'd like to think... i for on do, and do...

The Dead from the period between1970-77 was their best.... Jer's voice is just too beat up here.

Its nice that they were able to play the things sober that they were only able to write while tripping. Too bad life is so short and fragile.

Respond to this video... I love Brent's playing on this Eyes. I like him much better than Bruce Hornsby.

@SpottheLooney How does Youtube say you can't post videos by the dead? They allowed people to bring tape recorders to the concerts!

Jerry is pretty on here, and animated too ! Great turns by Brent also.
