Taubes talks about why "calories in calories out" is a true but useless explanation for weightregulation, and why exercise might not make you thin.

The interview was done during the ASBP conference in Seattle april 2010, where he was one of the speakers.

  • I love this guy. He's not trying to build an empire of selling low carb goods, he's just a journalist with an enquiring mind who knows he's cracked something, but who is still open to the possibility that he might not be 100% correct.

He knows that being fat is not our fault, but that its a condition. And once the cause is identified, it is very easily treated.

    Well, it worked for me!

  • @ieatsalad90 i love a low carb diet so much that when i saw "spam" on here, i licked my screen :O

he talks like that because that's the sophisticated intellectual jewish style of talking, he thinks it's cool...

  • Guy is out of breath just talking... every cell in your body requires sugar to function. Search Dr Caldwell Esselstyn for real health information.

  • no specific food group will cause weight gain. too many calories do that no matter from what.

  • Very Nice

  • Hi hi! Have you thought about intellectus 424 diet (do a google search)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my friend lost crazy amounts of weight with it.

  • Oh hai! Have you tried intellectus 424 diet (do a search on google)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my work buddy lost lots of weight with it.

  • I recently heard this guy on NPR and he seemed very knowledgeable. I have only been on a low carb diet once before, while lifting weights, and I remember it working very well. I was amazed at how lean I got by doing very little extra cardio work besides lifting.

Since, I reduced my meat and fat consumption with disastrous results. Even engaging in heavy cycling and running I could not get lean & seem to lose control my appetite. Carbs are addictive!

Maybe high protein & fat is more filling?

  • He may not die from heart disease, but.... damn, that's a lot of protein.

  • everytime the interviewer opens his mouth and interrupts Taubes with his thick swedish accent, a rockstar dies.
