Great song and video, I think this is taken from ''Irish Jail Songs'' which was a fundraising album for the restoration of Kilmainham prison.

Patsy Watchorn at his best with the 'ramblers.

He's not allowed to sing the rebel songs anymore since he joined the 'dubliners.

[Well maybe one or two] but this was at the height of the Dublin City Ramblers success. They were as good as The Dubliners ever were and better at some songs.

Your right Dardo, it's from "Irish Republican Jail Songs," album, recorded in 1978. And from "Killmainham Jail - It's Heroes and Songs," album. In story and song about the building, and the prisoners who were held within it's walls.
