Episode 1: Gods Shadow

Here we examine the fundamental basics of quantum mechanics that have been discovered by physicists over the last 100 years, starting from particle nature of the photon to quantum entanglement. Of course, all topics cannot be covered, and those that are covered have a specific purpose both for this episode and future episodes. The primary focus is on the probabilistic nature of matter at its most basic level. Thus, there is a heavy emphasis on Copenhagen school of thought and related experiments. After that, we compare what we have learned in nature to classical descriptions of God (omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence), and see if we can identify these qualities as conceptually possible. The Episode ends by answering the question:

If God exists, how could we possibly learn anything about Him when He is so far beyond our experience that it borders on the incomprehensible?

Contents In This Episode

(1/10) Introduction to the God and Cosmology series. I identify my objectives and outline my plan of production for future episodes. We then begin by outlining the 18th century philosophy of determinism born from Newtonian physics, and how this philosophy was shattered by discoveries beginning in the 20th century.

(2/10) The discovery of the particle nature of the photon by Max Planck, von Lenard, and Albert Einstein. Plancks law of black body radiation, von Lenards photoelectric effect, and Einsteins interpretation of the photoelectric effect are all covered. We finish with the particle wave duality introduced by Louis de Broglie.

(3/10) The start of this portion of the episode finishes where we left off in (2/10) by outlining several experiments which have confirmed particle wave duality in photons, electrons, atoms and molecules. The Heisenberg Uncertainty principle is then covered. After that, we look at the main concepts inherent within the Copenhagen interpretation, which includes wavefunctions, probability densities, the uncertainty principle, collapse of the wave function, particle wave duality, and classical approximations of large bodies. Special emphasis is placed on the Bohrian model of electron movement in atoms, and the lack of definite causality in the sub-atomic.

(4/10) We continue with the main concepts of the Copenhagen interpretation. We then explore the implications of the Copenhagen model with respect to probability and our knowledge of the system.

(5/10) To explain how the Copenhagen Interpretation treats probability and causality, the example of radioactive decay is used. The video then moves on to explain the Einstein Podolsky Rosen (EPR) experiment.

(6/10) We offer the solution to the EPR experiment. Experimentation demonstrates that Bohr is right, and that on a local level the Copenhagen interpretation reins supreme. We then begin with some argumentation, starting with identifying the three classical omni qualities of God, and asking the question as to how we can assess whether or not these qualities are conceptually possible. Conceptual Analysis is the answer, and how this works is demonstrated through the question of human flight in the 15th century thought.

(7/10) We explore the conceptual analysis of human flight, finishing with the analysis of bird flight mechanics, and how it can be applied for human use. We then begin our analysis of omnipresence, using what weve learned by applying conceptual analysis to human flight. Emphasis is placed on establishing domains of thought, and using phenomena observed in nature to validate one or the other. The example of flight is again used, except this time as a means to demonstrate why identifying phenomena in nature is a valid means of validating our established domains of thought.

(8/10) Discussion on how omnipresence and omniscience is conceivably possible. For the former, we discuss two separate domains of thought, and use physical phenomena observed in nature to validate the idea of omniscience as a plausible idea. For the latter, we discuss two barriers to omniscience proximity and time and handle individually. We build a comprehensive picture for how omniscience is also a plausible idea.

(9/10) We discuss omnipotence as a plausible idea by adding a third idea to the EPR experiment from the two we have in (8/10). Self criticism is applied with respect to limitations of these arguments. Final thoughts are presented as to how one should consider what reality is.

(10/10) A presentation by Carl Sagan on analyzing what we cannot perceive. Sagan talks about the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th dimensions. Sagan emphasizes that while we cannot see what a 4th dimensional hypercube looks like, we can still see its shadow, and thus we can still think about the 4th dimension even though we cant see it. If we wish to know God, we must know his shadow which is the Creation in which God manifested his Will into existence. Thus, if we wish to know God, know the Creation.

  • When Abraham Lincoln makes public addresses concerning his own Christian religosity, he is simply an atheist who is professing belief for political gains, but when Hitler does the same, this irrefutably proves that he was religious?

  • I enjoyed your videos. I realized long ago that the Father is light. The Son is Word / Wave. The Holy Spirit is Consciousness. This trinity is God. God projects Himself in an image into reality as Genesis 1:27 says. The duality of light, both particle and wave, is how matter becomes form. Consciousness (Spirit) then animates this matter. John 1 reveals this. Hebrews 11 reveals this. Colossians 1:1 reveals this. The image is a hologram. God is AMAZING! The Son is the way home.

  • Hi,

This is how the universe will end according to the Quran, I hope you like it: Quran Vs. Lawrence Krauss and "A Universe From Nothing": /watch?v=cv7lCR-7AKQ

  • What is called science by the *science-worshippers* of the present age and regarded by them as equivalent to the sum total of *reality*, is simply a collection of laws applicable to a single dimension of the world. The result of all human effort and experimentation is a body of knowledge concerning a minute bright dot comparable to the dim light of a candle-surrounded by a dark night enveloping a huge desert of indefinite extent.

All praise is due to ALLAH, the Lord of the Universe.

  • Do scientific discoveries and knowledge cause such a scientist to conclude that matter, *unknowing and unperceiving *, is his creator and that of all beings?

    No?

Then how can the atheists and some of the scientists delude themselve and *believe* that hydrogen and oxygen, electrons and protons, should first produce themselves, then be the source for all other beings, and finally decree the laws that regulate themselves and the rest of the material world? ....

  • @akrivera The atheist Delusion!

How could some of the scientists permit themselves to make a claim that would necessitate knowledge as extensive as the scheme of the universe, when their knowledge of the total scheme of being is *close* to zero, when confronted with a whole mass of unknowns concerning this very earth and tangible, lifeless matter, let alone the whole universe?

  • Does your imaginary friend(ie.God) fuck your other imaginary friend(ie.Mother Nature)? Don't you see that one is as ridiculous as the other? Yet people instantly capitulate when you say that Mother Nature isn't actually real and then they will fight vehemently that God is real. Both are not. Both are obviously imaginary.

  • john f kennedy is the reincarnation of abraham lincoln. i am the reincarnatioin of albert einstein. i'm not kidding. i've had dream of the holocaust. i remember those terrrible times until i came over to america. i also think like an alien most of the time. i feel like i have no emotions. i have no social intelligence.

  • LOL It is quite possible to prove that god does not exist. All anyone has to do is read the history of any religion and all religions in general and that explains exactly where and who created each religion and each god. That will eliminate each and every god ever invented by man leaving no gods to be explained.

  • Haven,t heard it all yet, but seem to follow the logic of buddha.

  • Thoe I belive in a higher power; That it is a god, many gods, or anything else, I belive even more in free decisions. If God was to controle our every move and decisions, then they would be no purpouse for a Heven or a Hell, for we would all be following what God ask of us. My comment is not against you, but it is what I belive of our existence. God made us, he waches us and he supports us. But we must all remember the frase "if we want something achived we must work for it." It's up to us.
