@mrdaihatsu - It is an original song by Newman - perhaps inspired by the Johnny Lange song. It has a different (better) melody and lyrics than Lange's. Just the title is the same......

@Jimbo700 The Wiki page for "Three Amigos" says randy wrote all the music for the movie except the score. However this same song with the same title appears to be written by Johnny Lange in 1947, and sung by Roy Rogers in the 1948 animated feature "Pecos Bill". Randy was 5 years old at that time. I like Randy Newman, but he may have problems claiming this one as his.
