(I understand the corosponding title to the colours are hard to read but they are not important, only the colour and description are important.)
Here you have a very basic introduction to Spiral Dynamics that Ken Wilber talks about very often.

If you are interested, here are the years that each Meme took place:

Beige: From 100,000 BC onward.

Purple: From 50,000 BC onward.

Red: From 7000 BC onward.

Blue: From 3000 BC onward.

Orange: From 1000 AD onward.

Green: From 1850 AD onward.

-Second Tier-
These are just emerging levels that gradually move away from concentration on subsistence level concerns of the First Tier toward being level existence.

Yellow: 1950s

Turquoise: 1970s

Coral: Not yet come.

  • WHAT IS A MEME in the context of spiral dynamics? I see it as a kind of attitudinal and value-laden (rather than cognitive) framework or blueprint which conditions the way we respond to external stimuli. The 8 colour-coded memes classification is apparently based on Hegelian-type studies of how civilisations develop. Spiral Dynamics is Marxist, however, in seeing development as 'bottom-up', I think. I am unsure about the ethics of messing with other societies, though. What do others think?

  • Honestly, I hardly see how it explains the progress in terms of class structure or at all as being related to dialectical-history. However, if you want I can make a video on the Marxist view of history, it is also a very interesting point of view which is just as deep as Spiral Dynamics.

Marxist History is not really seeing the development of civilizations built upon one another but rather it's evolution by way of constant contradiction of the norm.

Maybe you could elaborate on your view here.

  • Oh goodness me no, I'm not saying SD is Marxist in seeing progress as due to class conflict. I'm talking about national character and cultural ideology being determined by the material, economic base and not the other way round. And when I say 'Hegelian-type studies' I'm referring to Hegels view of the history of cultures as progressing incrementally toward some desirable goal ('freedom' in H's case). When you talk of 'constant contradiction of the norm', are you alluding to the dialectic?

  • Haha, sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes, I was referring to Dialectics.

  • i did salvia

and ever since ive been infatuated with color frequencies, time, and spirals

and how they relate to how we precieve "reality"

  • @MrCuntyballs2U

and why are they wrong? fuck, they seem like a move in the right direction to me.

  • 1:34 : green talk under "turquoise" label

  • awesome, Thank you for posting this.

  • Integral Theory + Spiral Dynamics = 2 wrongs don't make a right

  • If only I could read that small print which speeds past before it can be discerned.

  • Haha, this is from a long time ago. Had I made it now I would have used a different soundtrack.

  • luv that font ;) keep it up & slow it down ;)

  • i agree, but what i think i meant to say is that, even if you consider it to be outside de boundaries of science as a merely speculative philosophical theory, it wouldn't mean that it's not valid or useful.
