I loved this. Played it for hours.
You know, if you mash all the keys together (in game) you get the Commodore 64 boot screen!
Found that out by mistake after a frustrating game! lol

I used to love repairing the fences, especially with steel fences as they were the best, the wood and barbed wire ones didn't last long. Oh how these little things used to entertain us so much back in the day :)

it was possible to lock the beasties out forever so you could just wander around without fear and farm your heart out. The game never ended though so eventually you would get bored.

One of the few Amstrad CPC games I really, really liked! I played it constantly.

I had this for my Atari 800XL. Never played the game much, but the music was one of those short-but-catchy gems.
Is the music here "overloaded" single channel sound or using the enhanced 128K capabilities? If the former, I congratulate them on squeezing this much out of the beeper, if the latter... not so much :-)
This game was friggin' amazing. I played it all the time back in the late 80's when I was a kid, loved every second of fending for those poor crops.
It used to get to me that there was no save feature so you could continue your playtime.
Waiting for the supply ship then heading out to get the drop off - loved it. Say what you will about graphics today, but this game made me feel like I was alone on a planet fighting off giant ass ants - and that my doing so mattered.

A game you could get lost in for a few hours and as you say you could feel alone in a real environment. I thought - or hoped - there was an end to it but it was only about survival.

One of the cult classics on the Spectrum. Love this one.

Vastly under-rated game. Deserved to be bigger. One of the overlooked classics!

Yea I keep meaning to do a series on overlooked classics - this being one of them. I got a list of about 10, but only recorded or reviewed about er... 1 so far.
Just how do you keep up the enthusiasm for these Speccy games chap??

Sounds like your series has made a start even if it never sees the light of day!
I guess I must be very bored or very boring or both!
