I believe that the song is saying that if the person in subject of the song doesn't want to be drowned by the rain of lies, and that truth is more important than a lot of things. ANd if you're going to be stupid and say that lots of things are bigger than rain, i question where your common sense/logic is. Its obviously not meant to be taken literally. I've never heard the original song, but i love this song, you're great, and as i said, it is totally beautiful.
