Macross did a terrible job of predicting the future. Even now you wouldn't have just one idol on stage, but at least 48.

Episode 25 and 26 of Macross Frontier I now get the little nod to it that Alto's YF-25 does to Ranka and Sheryl turning to Batroid and saluting same as Ichigo did here...

I think the song in Robotech "We will win" is more fitting to a battle than "Do you remember love" In Macross the songs in later incarnations (Macross 2 included) are very upbeat and more to the pace of a battle.

Russell is correct it is called We Will Win by Lynn Minmay (sp)

"We will win" Lynn minmay? Is that how you spell it? Anyway I think that's the son your looking for. Haven't heard the song since I was like twelve but it was it's pretty hypnotizing you can't really forget it. Only took a little searching and I found it.

This comes to mind: Friend or Foe , must have been a real pain to make out there, but i know, fantasy.

@panaceaartist There were 2 songs. The first was "Barukirii de Sasotte (Riding in Your Valkyrie)" , the second was "Ima wa Tomodachi (For Now a Friend / Only a Friend)", both sung by Tomoyo Sato.
The song is called (Koori no Vision)by the J-Pop group PSY・S from their 1990 album, SIGNAL.

Either you're joking, or you don't know jack about Macross. For your information, that woman's name is Minmay, and she's not out of her mind. Her singing is part of the humans' battle plan. They're broadcasting her song to the aliens they're fighting, because those aliens have never heard music before and the sound of it confuses the hell out of them. With the aliens confused, that gives the humans the upper hand. The strategy may sound strange, but it works.
