  • If you think this is atonal, you really have no idea what atonal even means...

  • and by the way, principaltrumpet4U, that "fat guy on the left" is Clayton Chastain. He subs with the Atlanta Symphony and gigs all over. He played only played trumpet for just four years before getting accepted into Juilliard ON FULL SCHOLARSHIP. The next time you want to post hateful comments, take a look at you own pathetic life. Its worthless pieces of shit like you that take away from everything that youtube has to offer. Get a life, get some talent, and MAYBE you'll be worth something. Ass

  • @tptmaster012 I agree completely, i just believe that overal the grad school is the best in the nation for classical style. Jazz has the Manhatten school of music, the Cincinnati conservatory is a great grad school. Each major school has it's strong points, just Julliard is most likely the overall top.

  • @detaono

Not to discredit Julliard, but in my opinion, it is not necessarily the best musical institute in the nation. There many other conservatories that are better in certain instruments. It all depends on the instrument you intend to study on

  • This is amazing! I'm hoping to go to julliard

  • To end the earlier argument. Northwestern is arguable the best undergrad school, but Julliard is, in my own opinion, the best grad school for classical styles in the nation.

On another note, Don't like the piece, but it's very well played. The more....yes..i'll say it, Atonal OR (note the or) modern pieces are not my style. Nor do I generally like listening to them. But this piece is a good representation of the upper crust of the above mentioned styles.

  • All of you people saying "rargh blargl this isn't atonal you're no musician!" are being silly. Atonality is used in some great pieces by Debussy and Stravinsky. Atonality is not 'unmusical,' it's just a quality of the way the piece is written. If you can find a tonal center in the first minute of this piece, good for you, but I wouldn't believe it.

All else aside, this ensemble is quite amazing, go trumpets!

  • I'll be whistling this one tomorrow. Nice playing though!

  • The thing about NTC....you can be this freakishly amazing and only get third place. Goodness.

  • Excellent playing.

  • @alwtrp123 don't be such a dick dude and you could have just as easily answered the guy's question without being a twat
