Trevor Watson is the founder of Revolt In Style magazine and a person well-known in certain San Diego circles. Lesser known but still of importance in Lynn O'Rourke, the mother of Zombie Club DJ Wendy and Trevor's former girlfriend from the 1980's and who he started Club iD with at, Trevor says, a bar called Cunningham's on Miramar Road when he came here from England.
Club iD was San Diego's first New Wave Dance Club that brought Brit-Euro club style DJ-ing to what was then provincial, backwatery San Diego in the post-punk/disco early-Reagan era. San Diego may still be a second run town for club trends but there's tons of dance clubs now as well as quite a few "cool/hip" scene magazine's of the category that Revolt In Style filled when it was the first and only publication of its kind here.
On the night of February 16th Trevor opening his art show in the old Bank Of America vault inside Rock Paper Scissors on Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach.
The guy with the two dogs is Guy Lombardo, who is also a judo/jui-jitsu blackbelt and art community fixture around these parts.
Everyone agreed that is was "good to see Trevor creating again."
(SoCal trivia: Lynn is the sister of California surfscene icon, 1970's champion competitive surfer and La Jolla-Windansea local Chris O'Rourke.)
