  • @Tasmonicus I agree. I lived in Europe for years and you don't get grocery bags for free there - in fact they cost 50 to 60 cents each where I lived. It encourages people to remember to bring reusable bags - for economic reasons even if not for ecological.

  • Wow, these scare tactics are truly disgusting. Anyone who believes these lies needs to get educated on what this bill actually does.

  • @roxellov Unfortunately, not enough people are smarter and buy it.

  • Plastic bags, though inexpensive to make and buy, do NOT need to be the source of jobs. There are better, sustainable jobs to be created. Let's build electricity-producing incinerators and get the millions of tons of plastic out of our oceans. This plastic is killing sea life and before we know it will kill humans, not to mention the circle of life becoming disrupted by the masses of animals dying from human negligence.

  • @ChrisCa1601 you are a liar. The poor and elderly who have to walk and use the bus already use reusable bags because they hold more and are more comfortable to carry. The cheap plastic ones break and cut into your hands. If you ride a bus or train in any city you will see this is true.

  • Julia Brownley...AB1998 has now crashed and BURNED !!...You stupid democrats need to remove your heads from your asses and focus on the issues at hand. Go back to Sacramento and balance the budget by cutting and slashing the spending of $30,000,000,000 annually...FYI, Please tell Boxer to pack her bags.

  • @tkines You're ignorant. And definitely an idiot. Fuck the ACC and you too.

  • @Mestilf22 They could, but those reusable bags are still plagued with harmful bacteria.

  • Ridiculous. People are smarter than buying this CRAP from the ACC!

  • @ChrisCa1601 And somehow reusable cloth bags can't do the same thing?

  • Voting No on this bill has my support. I do not have a reliable means of transportation and rely on plastic bags to carry my groceries home.
