Now before ya go and say there's waaaaaaaaaaaaay to much gain and bass, please note that the settings used are actually quite modest. I'm still trying to mess around with my camera and try to get the audio sounding better but it's coming out kinda woofy for some reason. The XTC's gain was at about 2:30, Studio on 5 (5 out of 10), and the ADA MP1 was on 5.0 (out of 10).

Here's a photo of my Studio settings:

  • they sound pretty great

have to ask something about the wah that youre using at the beginning of the video

is it a Dunlop Crybaby wah?

  • yeah it's the dunlop 2SR

  • I dont hear the sizzle here of a mesa rectifier on the modern setting. This comes closer to simulating the vintage rectifier setting. I should know I own a rectoverb

  • That's what I was going for. Plus the "Sizzle" on the early rectifiers (mine is from 1992) isn't that stereotypical recto tone. The presence and treble controls are very useful and don't get too strong until very far up in their taper.

  • which poweramp do you use?

  • It's the powersection of a 1992 rackmount mesa dual rectifier =)

  • Is the MP-1 moded, or is it original?

  • Who are you to knock a brand because a single amp doesn't sound good?

Line 6 have the spider series, which sucks, but their recording and effects stuff is nice.

Marshall's MG sounds shocking, but they're JVM's are nice.

    Randall's rock.

  • Mesa Studio Preamp Wins.

  • mesa studio is the killer tone.. ADA is cool also that it transport you to 80's tone

  • @gnt1856

Considering a spider costs like 250 bucks, it's quite good.

  • so what are u running this through? Studio speakers or a cab? if its a cab please let me know what kind it is!!! :)

  • nice tone on the Mp1 samples,

    What tubes are you using?

  • I like the Six Degrees CD, but I wish there had been more songs like The Glass Prison. On the new album there is a continuation of it. I'm glad they did that.

  • it is i'm pretty sure.

  • Sounds like The Glass Prison in the beginning. It's cool to hear someone playing some DT.

  • studio sounded best... in my opinion
