During the spring 2007 parliamentary session, the deputy Vasil Hrol suggested that "the entire gambling industry of Belarus should be based in the town of Hlybokaje (in northwestern Belarus). Hlybokaje should become the Belarusian Las Vegas." This visionary deputy was born and raised not far from this small, rural town, which might explain the origins of his weird idea. "Just imagine skyscrapers over Hlybokaje and flights from all the major cities of the world heading to this place," -- he rambled on. We don't know about his plans for legalized prostitution or a Belarusian CSI. We've simply tried to document his dream here. Remember, what happens in Hlybokaje, stays in Hlybokaje.
