  • lmao i gota say no parade beats us westindian parade:) we does mash it up

  • big chune

  • New York City has best parades. Boricuas, Jamaicans, Dominicano, everbody!!!!!!!!

  • I'm just trying to let people know what really goes on. I'm not here to candy-coat anything. A lot of real news get shot down because "it isn't news". Take a look at the Youtube video of the cop pushing the bicyclist during Critical Mass. A plethora of people are ready to lynch him, yet there was a 9 yr old kid shot in Brooklyn yesterday by a stray bullet to the head. There isn't any major media coverage or any community outrage. Does someone have to deal with a cop so his life can matter?

  • Trust me, I am with you on news media and how the powers that be deal with things. I personally struggled constantly within the walls but I was not a news director. We, reporters, can do so much before we are written up (smile). It is true that we try to get the stories that matter but they get shot down during the daily production meetings. A lot of times it is driven by the MAINSTREAM who are the majority in the newsrooms. It is sad and yet true. I'd love for more to join the fight! :)

  • The individual reporter may not downplay a story. But the editors definitely downplay or create a story where it benefits them. If I'm telling a lie, tell me why hasn't the media covered the blatant corruption that goes on in the higher echelons of the NYPD. Such as downgrading felonies to misdemeanors because misdemeanors aren't part of the COMPSTAT crime tracking system. No one is questioning why misdemeanors are sky high?

  • I'm not talking from a media point of view. I'm talking from the street. I see the same people walk back and forth and the parade seems to go on and on. It also gives the effect that there are a million people there. Like I said, not even the Million man march attracted 1,000,000 people.
