None before, None since, I sincerely believe he reached out in a way no other DJ ever has, missed massively by anyone who appreciated the freedom and musical anarchy John bought to the air waves, there is forever an empty space on the dial.............god bless him

Boss Fella. Boss Red. God Bless John Peel.
John Peel "discovered" more music than any other DJ, had a legendary success rate in finding unknowns that would become big, architected some of the musical wonders of the world through his sessions, and had a diversity of likes that few can come close to, working with everyone from Delia Derbyshire (of White Noise/Radiophonic Workshop fame) to industrial metal bands like Sisters of Mercy to pop superstars like The Beatles. Both radio and music-loving society lost a lot when they lost him.
