Jon Foreman forcefully removed by Tampa cop

Jon Foreman playing aftershow in Tampa on 8-15-2010 plays 2 unreleased songs and then gets kicked out by Tampa PD. (Actually, it was a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputy.)

Edit: Here's what happened: Switchfoot played at the Amphitheater located on the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa and after the show Jon came out to do an aftershow performance behind the amphitheater. He played a total of two songs.

We were on the Florida State Fairgrounds still, which is not public property. The officer was pretty much just doing his job, albeit in a less than PR conscious way.

Jon is the nicest guy in the world. Who treats somebody like this? Jon just wanted to talk it out with the guy and he wouldn't even listen!

I still don't get it. I know he was doing his job but in the time it took to get Jon out of there, he could have played the last song and everyone would have left by themselves. Sometimes the manual needs to go out the window.

hey guys, the cop was trying to do what he interpreted as his job. Whether or not he really was doesn't matter, the cop obeyed his sworn oath to protect and to serve, and Jon (and presumably his audience) willingly did as he requested.

What's wrong with that cop? A peaceful gathering of youth listening to a guitar and Jon Foreman's melodic voice? This was wayyyy before the Occupy Movement... so... I don't get it.
