I'm posting this for a friend/ classmate. This was a "Create-A-Commercial" assignment for my multimedia computing science class. Although the assignment sounds fun, it wasn't especially since the professor I had was an arrogant, ignorant jackass.

The assignment criteria is as follows:
1.) Must record live footage
2.) Length between 40-45 secs (Set in stone, no leniency)
3.) Must be original
4.) Must have a midi file
5.) Must have a wav file
6.) Must have a title
7.) Must have ending credits
8.) Must be in MPEG format
9.) Must incorporate 3 different frame transitions
10.) Must submit via WebCT (one the Slowest and most Unreliable submission servers, max file size submission is 20MB, and my commercial was a minimum 35MB *Great Planning Prof*)

I'm no expert on commercials, but this entire assignment was seriously messed up, the title and ending credits MUST be part of the time limit, and with so much crap to put into this, doesn't this sound unconventional? How many F***ing commercials HAVE ENDING CREDITS??? The bastard prof should've made the time limit at least a minute, especially since most students in the class were not fluent in video editing *such as I at the time*. The recorded live footage was done via my digital photo camera so the quality is poor and i have a natural tendency to clear my throat a lot so I won't be voice commentating in general for my videos. The towers of books are not fake, they are nearly all the textbooks I have bought.

Original and Uncut version I tried to submit:

Information on the textbook:
Introduction to Algorithms, 2nd Edition (Thomas Corwen) [The CLRS Book]
Info Link: http://www.amazon.com/Introduction-Algorithms-Thomas-H-Cormen/dp/0262032937/r...
Words cannot describe my intense hate for this forsaken piece of crap of an excuse for a textbook. Not only did I find a lot of nuisance and garbage this book attempts to pass off as divine guidelines of algorithms, but I went through Hell trying to get rid of the book. I seriously wanted to incinerate it. Chances are if you are in computing science, applied computer science, or engineering, or whatever, you probably have come across this book.

Problems with Textbook:
1.) NO SOLUTIONS (most obvious and frustrating as every stupid section of the textbook has at least 3 questions, piling up to about 200+)
2.) Lack of Color (long-winded textbooks that are only black and white are terrible to read)
3.) Impractical and incoherent coding language convention for pseudocode (not C++ or Java, but something completely different)
4.) Jerk author refuses to post solutions, and actually had the BALLS to threaten students who requested solutions by posting their names online and classifying them as cheaters. What a DICK.
5.) Most sections are way too short, on average is like 2.5 pages long, and one sections is entirely devoted to explaining Minima and Maxima *Now why the hell would this section to explore what is a MINIMUM or MAXIMUM, is it that difficult?, not to mention there are questions for that section, that's just stupid*
6.) Useless accompanying CD
7.) Too many end blank pages (noticed it as a trend in many textbooks)
8.) Oddball variables. (Someone put it very well in an amazon.com review: What is X? Go See Question on X.)

who ever wrote this book is an idiot

  • haha, very nice and creative!! I think it would be better if there is more clear transition between textbooks and the boom. ^_^
