Yoga tips for winter with ginger and lemon

Hi everybody! Welcome to my kitchen!

Today we're gonna show you a drink that you can have every single day leading up to our autumn and winter months. And this is something you can do as soon as you wake up in the morning before you go and do your yoga practice. Now what I'm gonna show you is a lemon and ginger drink. And what I've done here is, Ive juiced up some lemon...

And just to tell you a little bit about the lemon. Lemon is just fantastic. It's such a beautiful citrus fruit and what this is great for is that it's very full and a high source of vitamin B. And also is a very high source of vitamin C and as well as a lot of minerals such as phosphorus, calcium and magnesium, and also has proteins and carbohydrates. It's a blood purifier and it works as an astringent also, and it's a fantastic fruit because it aids your stomach so it's great for your digestive system. Works as a liver tonic, so as soon as you wake up in the morning, and you drink that, well it's gonna really very good for your digestive system and eliminating wastes. And therefore you know, knowing that yoga is very good for detoxing and great for elimination, great for digestive system, this is gonna assist you just before you practice as well, for your practice. And what I've done is I have chopped up some ginger. Now, let us put some ginger in here. And let us add some water to it. And I love ginger. Ginger is so good. It's fantastic for any stomach problems. And because of its anti-inflammatory properties, it's also great to have it in the morning before you go and do a yoga practice because it aids in muscular aches and pains. Now this is great for people who have problems with rheumatism, and arthritis, any muscular aches and pains, and they have this drink in the morning.
And before you go and do your yoga practice, it will really warm up your body and youll feel sensational because its very warming as well and delicious and it will aid your practice tremendously. And what Ive also done is brought out the Manuka honey. Manuka honey is fantastic. What I do is also just put half a teaspoon. It depends on your taste buds, if you like it a little bit sweeter. You can add a teaspoon if you like. And it has anti-bacterial properties so its very very good for your system as well. So every morning, I suggest taking this drink as soon as you wake up and its a beautiful lemon and ginger and Manuka honey drink.

So enjoy and I can reassure you, you will reap the benefits of just drinking these beautiful herbs. Working with herbs like ginger, and having lemon is just divine. And if you're also thinking of weight loss, this is fantastic to have on a daily basis. Have a good day. See you again next time. Bye bye!

  • The ginger can be reused up to 5-6 times so I don't put it in the cup, but rather leave it in the pot where the water was boiled.

  • Prayer unto God,is what yoga tries to undo....

  • Do you just cut up the ginger and let it sit in the glass?

  • @WoOoWeEwOoO nope, although it tastes acid, citrus becomes alkaline in your stomach, it's actually great to drink this first thing in the morning, because it's the best time to detox (after an 6-8 hours "fast" since you were sleeping) your body is ready to be cleaned, if you don't feel like making a hot drink, simply add lemon juice to your regular water.

  • i thought it wasn't good to have citrus first thing in the morning? wouldn't it hurt the stomach?

  • @Kwizii

    Thanks for that.
