swing is sweet but way too long on the bat or heavy. nice loop through the zone
-
@kablamo89 the bats too heavy for him too he's late t times too
-
great hitter just tell him to follow all the way through!
-
he would do better if he'd finish his swing and not let go of the bat
But this is good.
-
he needs faster bat speed its too slow for the ball you can tell the ball stops the bat which isnt good

Kid has a good swing for eight years old. I have to agree with kablamo89 though. The bat looks heavy for him and he would have a more level and more powerful swing if he held onto the bat all the way around. Also, he is a little late so i would slow down all the movement in his hands. Just keep the bat still and then recoil when the ball is about to be released. He will have more time this way and hit the ball on the meat of the bat and won't be so late.

good swing for an 8 yr old. I'm sure you've given it a shot but in my opinion the tee is the best learning tool for any age. It teaches four very important fundamentals. Keeping your head down eyes on the ball, hitting the top half of the baseball, keeping your hands high, and with repetition will reduce unnecessary lower body movement. Pitching to the kid's keeps them interested and is productive but the drills are where you develop a great swing
the best advice i can think of for this kid is to hold on to the bat all the way through. if you watch the best contact hitters in the major leagues they all follow through all the way. I am a baseball instructor for middle to high schoolers and i would suggest he stops pointing his front toe towards the pictcher in his swing. make sure he points only the side of his foot towards him. Hope this helped a little bit. message me if you want anymore feedback.

Thx for the feedback. He usually finishes with both hands high, but he said he was being lazy. We're trying to work on that front foot, but that's hard for a kid. Any other advice is welcome. Thx again.
