Attack at Walmart caught on tape

TAMPA - Some Walmart employees in new Tampa made a stand, not about to let two young thieves get away.

Police say the situation apparently started out as a shoplifting expedition by two Wesley Chapel men, and they had a very specific shopping list in mind.

One of the suspects ended up grabbing a pair of scissors and attacking a security guard.

Justin Espinoza and Eric Lewis had been stopped at the door by store security, after officers say they stole the scissors and three packages of male enhancement drugs.

Both men were ordered held on high bails, because they both had outstanding warrants for unrelated crimes.

Espinoza now faces armed robbery charges.

"When you got caught, you were uncooperative and tried to use the scissors to try and get away, so instead of a little petty theft case, its now a robbery charge," said Judge Walter Heinrich.

Fortunately, police say security officer Jason Poole was not seriously hurt as Espinoza tried to stab him, and escape with those male enhancement products.

Attacking that security officer with the scissors could be costly to Espinoza. It will probably mean prison, prosecutors say, while the shoplifting would probably only have meant probation.

Not to mention the fact both men could end up behind bars for the holiday.
