Quite possibly one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard. Incredibly original for it's time. Such a great game too! Utterly under rated =)

i bought this game on a yard sale a long time ago

it took me almost 4 years to play this game.

i lost it ...and buyd it again on the internet.but the pcs were too new then...

so now me and a good freind of mine, who used to play it with me,

found a windows 98 to play silver on vacation (with a lot of weed ^^)

...we made it within 3 days...

too sad.

but it was a glorious time...

best game in the world!

@hubachecka Now it should work fine :) if you want to start the explorer again, go to your task-manager, select file and new task. Just type in explorer and it will restart.

If you get stuck at one of those steps let me know,

@hubachecka Just go to your system controls then programs and look for the K-light codec package. Then de-install it. Now if you start silver and still get graphic bugs tap out of the program by pressing Ctrl + Alt + delete, open the task-manager and go to processes. You need to close your "explorer.exe" process, then switch back to Silver.

@hubachecka Then I used the 3Danalyze on the silver.exe and set all the hardware limits (both cap limits and features) on, this limits your 3d hardware and should get rid of all the basic graphic bugs.

Now set the compatibility of your silver.exe to windows 98, just by right-clicking it, settings and then compatibility.

If you get a black screen after starting you might have installed the "K-light codec package" This codec package is not able to load the intro video and silver will not start.

@Kentarorox I had to do a lot of stuff before it actually worked.

I intalled it the normal way. Here is what I needed to play it, i uploaded the files to rapidshare

I used this silver.exe which is the geforce fix some of you should be familiar with,

then I used the silverpatcher which is also in this winrar and used it on the new silver.exe. I used 758 pixel for the spare buffer, not the 640!

Can you explain how did you get it to work?

AFTER 5 years of failing I finally got it to work on a new system.

I now played for 5 hours straight and almost done, I just love this game, the music, the atmosphere and all the characters.
