@richardwernst You are correct, the coil "air gaps" do have to be properly set...If the coils are set "in" too far from the flywheel magnets and you will have weak/no spark. Set the coils too close to the flywheel, and the coils will rub/jam on the flywheel...There is an expensive tool for aligning the coils properly...BUT, usually they can be set close enough by lining up the coil laminations with the machined surfaces on the mag plate just below the coils, torque the flywheel also...D

How did/do you set the coil "gap" to the flywheel magnets? I thought you needed a special thing like a flywheel hole in the top to set the proper gap? Thanks.
