How to root Moto Droid 1 on ANY version (Including 2.2.2)

This is a full guide to rooting your original Motorola Droid on Android 2.2.2 (Build number FRG83G), a new update pushed out by Verizon a few days ago.

This will also root the Droid 1 on ANY version. 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.1, 2.2, 2.2.1, or 2.2.2!

To Unroot, you must download the following Verizon update:
http://wonderly.com/bb/DROID/OEM/signed-voles-FRG83G-ota.zip
Place that on your SD Card, name it update.zip (or update whichever worked for you the first time). And flash that. It will restore a default kernel, recovery mode, and /system image. Make sure to wipe everything first though.

@RepLimitless On this ROM? Probably, but because it's a custom ROM that's a bad idea. You can easily restore an HTC RUU though, which returns your phone back to complete factory settings.
