On July 19 the Scratch Art exhibition opened at the Canvas L.A. Gallery in Los Angeles. Featuring over 300 original pieces of scratchboard art, this is the final exhibition before the collection is returned to the artists and we move on to our next project. The show is truly epic: although the size and medium of each piece is the same, there is every style and technique you could imagine represented there. If you are in the LA area or even just passing through, be sure to treat yourself to what is one of the most creative spectacles we have seen in a long time. In addition, there are a number of scratchboard panels hanging at the gallery that are meant to be scratched on by visiting guests and artists; already there are some exciting and unexpected compositions emerging from the flat black foundation that scratchboards provide. These panels will be auctioned off at the end of the show and the proceeds will go to Little Kids Rock, an LA based charity that provides musical education to underprivileged kids. Drop by and contribute some of your artistic mojo to this spontaneous expression of creative group energy!
