Every minute of every hour of every day, two babies die of malaria somewhere in Africa. Believe it or not, these precious lives could be saved by a simple mosquito net.
In 2010 Nando's Australia found Kingsley Holgate, and together we have committed to working together to save as many lives as possible. The process is very simple. At Nando's we sell the bracelets in all our restaurants. All the proceeds then go to purchasing nets that are then handed over to pregnant mothers and to mothers with infant, in remote African villages. This is where Kingsley Holgate plays his part, by making sure that these nets reach their destinations in the very hands of the mothers who need them.
The bracelets also have a story of their own since their journey starts in Africa, where they are made by African women. So not only these simple bangles mean saved lives, but they also mean food on the table for the women who make them.
So next time you visit a Nando's restaurant in Australia, go ahead and spare 4 bucks for a bracelet. Skip you latte and save a life, you'll feel all the better about it.
