Connecting the Whitestone Bridge with north-central Queens, the Whitestone Expressway was originally built as the Whitestone Parkway in 1939, before being upgraded to its current form. The highway forms part of a critical link to JFK Airport from points north of Queens.

Note: This video also features the "Astoria Spur" of the expressway that cuts to the west toward the RFK (Triboro) Bridge. This elevated segment starting at 1:45 was to continue west to the bridge as a much larger (and unbuilt) Astoria Expressway...

Highlights: Flushing River Bridge, Citi Field, "Astoria Spur"

  • I like those roads with lots of lanes.

  • WOW. Where is everyone. Iv'e never seen those roads this empty.

  • Linden Place is my old exit. That's my old housing complex on the left. It looks so different then when I was a kid. When did they change all the lighting?
