I saw this guy in my backyard so i thought it try out my Camera's nightshot capabilities. First i put it on nightshot, then switch to super nightshot, which slows the framerate down but allows for the shot to be much brighter :)

Ps. looks cool when it flies off!

  • getting confused... but here's the deal...thisw is a tawny owl in a place called frogmouth?

  • This particular group of birds, goatsuckers, of which the Frogmouth is a member were considered evil spirts by some of the ancients and primitive peoples.

  • That bird can see the IR light you are probably blinding the poor thing.

  • Nightmares. You all have them now. And this bird is in them.

    Tawny Frogmouths aren't owls, though :)

  • Nice movie.

    I do wonder if you realise that owls can see infra red, so for this own it appeared like you were putting a bright light in his face. Thats why he looked away from the camera and after a final peak flew away.
