Imam Al MAHDI(AS) . is Alive and well , and YES he appears to who ever he wants , He also attends the Hajj Every year with the Muslims . If you do not believe in AALAM AL QAIB , you are not Muslim .

Quran 2;3- Who believe in the Unseen,( THE QAIB), and establish worship, and spend of that We have bestowed upon them; (3)

some suni acept that there is Imam Mehdi (AS) but the rest those who ignore appearance of Imam Mehdi (AS) because they scare of him, that is why  they wanna make themselves comfortable and say to each other we do not know, Imam Mehdi is Alive well and every one i guess met him already, He is among Us,
